It may be a grey Monday, but there is excitement in the Vocab Express office today as we have some great news! We are over the moon to announce that the new Vocab Express assignments module has been shortlisted in the ‘Innovation in ICT’ category for the Bett Awards 2014!

Here at Vocab we see being recognised as a great honour, as the Bett Awards are considered to be the most prestigious in the education sector. Judged by a collection of experienced teachers with outstanding ICT knowledge and understanding, education consultants and advisers, and high profile ICT journalists, the awards are committed to celebrating the successes and achievements of the most innovative companies that supply ICT for education.

As all of you educators out there will know, sometimes engaging children in learning outside of the classroom is no mean feat, whilst being able to accurately monitor their progress can be even harder! We speak to secondary schools and colleges on a regular basis and this was something we kept hearing. The assignments module is therefore designed to make it easier not only motivate students by appealing to their competitive side (everyone wants to be a winner!), but to provide clever tracking tools that break down their performance. Now you can view how long the assignment took, how many questions were answered correctly and incorrectly along with other key information to be able to support their learning experience.

The award winners will be announced at the Bett Awards dinner at The Brewery, London on Wednesday 22January, the first day of Bett. We’d like to say congratulations to everyone who has made the shortlist, and wish you all the best of luck. Please keep your fingers crossed that we get to walk up onto that stage as a winner in the New Year!
